HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!
As I sit here on this very giving morning, I look outside and see the dismal day (rain and clouds) beginning and think to myself, the atmosphere may be dismal, but the feelings are far from it.
I am not one to wait for 1 day a year to give Thanks for what I have and of all the people in my life. I am a very fortunate individual to have the life that I sometimes take for granted.
I think every day of all the things in my life that I am thankful for. Like most people, I get lost in the day to day routine of life and don’t take time to look at everyone around me that is a major part of my life and express the feelings I have for them.
First and foremost, I am thankful that I have good health.
Alexis, my child, advocate, friend, adversary, sparing partner, my baby. What would I do without her! She is the strength that is a driving force in my life. Every second of every day, I thank God that she was given to me.
PJ, my better half (and I do mean better half). After 17 years (inside joke) he is still my Best Friend. He allows me to be the person I can’t be with other people. He knows all my secrets, shortcomings, attitudes, imperfections, flaws and weaknesses and he still loves me. HE STILL LOVES ME!! Can’t ask for more than that. He is my life.
My three sons, Dwayne, Chris and Andy. I love them dearly, more than they will ever know. They are grown men with lives and families of their own. Unlike when I was raising them, I made all the decisions in their lives, now they do. Everyone needs to take control of their lives and whether right or wrong, they live their life to the fullest. Like most parents, you may not agree with the whats, hows and whys of their lives, but you still love them and would do anything for them.
Grandchildren. What can’t you say about Grandchildren. You get to spoil them and in most cases hand them back at the end of the day. I have 14 grand kids and love each and everyone of them as the individual they are. Do I get to spend as much time with them as I want, need, should? NO. Every parent and Grandparent has regrets, a lot of times about things that really do not matter. I try to keep in mind that even the littlest things that I do with them, for them, is a memory in the making. After all, isn’t that what life is for, to make memories?
My Sister, Ruth. Now here is a lady that is OLDER that I am, so she is my big sis. I love her dearly and can not imagine life without her in it. Sisters are very special. Even if you don’t get along all the time, you know they will still be there for you. We can say anything to each other, sometimes very hurtful things, and still know that we would be there for each other. She is my grounding force, even though I sometimes act older
. My relationship with my sister is unlike any other relationship I have. It is all relationships I have combined into one. If you have a sister, you will know what I mean. There is no other and I love her very much.
My Brothers, Max and Aaron. Like when we were growing up, brothers always were the Pain in your life. Nothing changes when it comes to this, even when you get older. Sometimes you drift apart, but always thinking about them, glad you don’t have to live with them, but happy they are just a phone call away. These two men will always have a special place in my heart.
My Heather and Krystal. These are two wonderful and fantastic women who have become a part of my life, whether they wanted to or not
They are well-rounded, mature, responsible and loving young ladies and mothers. They will always be in my heart for as long as I live. They are the daughters every mother would want. I love them dearly.
Friends. Like they say, friends come and go through your life. Only the truly special people stay with you through thick and thin. I have true friends in my life. As we get older and have families of our own, we take for granted the time that is not spent with true friends and one day you wake up and realize that those true friends are no longer a major part of your life. They are always there in times of need, but having relationships with them like you once had is no longer. So cherish the friends you have and make time for them in your life. The moments are here to share.
Last but not least, I am thankful that I am able to do this website and feel needed. When you retire from a career, you sometimes get to a point in your life that you feel like you are no longer a part of. This has given me an opportunity to be a part of again, thanks to everyone that has viewed and/or commented on this site. I am a person that needs to be there to help other people. With this site, it helps me to continue to give of myself and that, my dear friends, is what I am thankful for. You !!
Here at Frugal Creations, my sister, Ruth and I wish you all, the Happiest Thanksgiving ever and a very safe Holiday travel.
